About Orchards Children's Services
Orchards Children's Services helps families in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw and Genessee Counties come together, stay together and grow together. Our dedicated employees work with 650 families each day, helping over 4,000 children and families each year. Our total organizational budget is $13 million. Our twenty one distinguished board members are committed community leaders representing a diverse cross-section of Michigan's social landscape. Since 1962, Orchards has been a pioneer in services to children, and the architect of major improvements to the child welfare system in the State of Michigan.
We have three fundamental organizational goals: 1) To protect and support children and connect them to the community, 2) To create hope and opportunity for children by changing their view of themselves and the world around them and 3) To position Orchards as a central link in the network of community resources available to youth and families throughout our region.
